Our history
Starling Funeral Home is a two story antebellum style home, located in Harlem, Georgia, the birthplace of the famous vaudeville actor, Oliver Hardy, and is just 15 minutes west of Bobby Jones Expressway, Augusta, Georgia, and 5 miles from exit 183 off Interstate 20.
Starling Funeral Home was built in the early 1900's. This historical building continues today as an elegant and opulent residence, well known for its refined interior, as well as for its Southern architectural exterior.
The funeral home was established in 1958 as Prather Funeral Home by Barrett Prather. He owned and operated the funeral home until his retirement in 1984. Darron Starling purchased the home from Mr. Prather and restored the home to its original state and it became Starling Funeral Home.
Serving as an independent funeral Home, families who are grieving a loss come to Starling Funeral Home, as they have for decades, because they know they will be treated as family.
