Vernon H. Johnson

October 23, 1935 - January 21, 2022

Vernon Homer Johnson, 86, entered into rest on Friday, January 21, 2022, at University Hospital, Thomson, Georgia. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Mesena United Methodist Church, 2455 Mesena Road, Mesena, Georgia 30828, with the Reverend Melissa Reynolds officiating. Mr. Vernon, a native of Warren County, was the son of the late Homer and Lucille Johnson. He was retired from Thomson Company with many years of service as Supervisor. After his retirement, he went to work for Thomson Decorating. Vernon enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Rose Society and the Daylily Society where he also served as President and Judge. He was a longtime member of Mesena United Methodist Church. Left to cherish his memory are his son, Leonard Johnson; daughter Tammy Pilgrim (Allen); his grandchildren, Rob Reese, Meagan Rutherford (Daniel), Mark Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Michael Johnson and Cassie Johnson; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Billy Johnson and a grandson, Nick Reese.
