Frank H. Mixon

November 28, 1942 - January 11, 2017

Sgt. 1st Class Frank Hampton Mixon, Ret. US Army, 74, husband of Tressa B. Mixon, entered into rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Dwight David Eisenhower Army Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Philadelphia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Bradford officiating. Interment will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors and Masonic Rites. Mr. Mixon, a native of Augusta, served his country for 20 years in the United States Army. He also served 12 years in the US Air Force as a Dental Lab Technician and 8 years in the Reserves Active Duty as a training Officer in Dental services. He was the owner of Mixon’s Mobil Notary Service. Mr. Mixon was a member of the John S. Davidson Lodge #677 and Philadelphia United Methodist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, York Rite Commandery Council Chapter, Red Cross Constantine, Post Commander of Georgia Commandery #1 Knights Templer, Past Royal Patron of Amaranth, and Former Secretary and Treasure of the Masonic Temple City of Augusta. He was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church were he served as Sunday School Superintendent. He was also on the Church Finance Committee, Choir member and an honorary member of the Quilter's Bee. Survivors include his wife, Tressa B. Mixon; one son, Franklin Grant Mixon; one daughter, Kimberly Iris Mixon; one sister, Mary Mixon Fite (Donald); and his grandchildren, Victoria Helen Mixon and Franklin Grant Mixon, Jr. Pallbearers will be United States Army Honor Guard. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Ligon, Randall Laws, Russell Laws, Bill Edwards, Dave Gibbs and David Harris. If so desired, memorials may be made to Philadelphia UMC, 780 Old Louisville Rd.
