Mrs. Etta Ruth Moore

Mrs. Etta Ruth Moore of Pooler, GA, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at her home following an extended illness. She was born in Harlem, GA, daughter of Robert Toombs (Bob) and Carrie Etta Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Moore; by both her parents, her siblings, and one grandson, Andrew Wiley of Columbia, TN. Survivors include two daughters Anne Wiley (Larry) of Columbia, TN, and Deborah Lowe of Rincon, GA., and one son John Raymond Moore (Etta) of Colorado, four grandchildren – Jonathan, and Susan Wiley of Columbia, TN, Angela Nash (Andy) of Loganville GA, and Thomas Moore (Jackie) of Savannah, GA, five great-grandchildren – Taylor Martinelli (Kelly), Madison, Olivia and Luke Nash of Loganville, GA, Peyton Moore of Savannah, and several special nieces and nephews. She traveled extensively with her husband during his Military career, living in Japan, Hawaii, and several of the lower 48 states before settling in Savannah. After his retirement they continued to travel, completing their tour of all 50 states. Ruth enjoyed visiting with family, traveling and all types of games. She retired from Georgia Regional Hospital, and enjoyed working as a tax preparer for H&R Block at Garden City, GA, for 41 years where she formed lasting friendships with not only her co-workers, but many clients as well. Visitation will be on Saturday, February 2nd from 1-2 at Starling-Evans Funeral Home located at 435 W. Milledgeville Road in Harlem, GA. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Polly Davis officiating with burial to follow at South Harlem Memorial Gardens.
