Emily Harriet Durden

September 29, 1943 - April 7, 2022

Mrs. Harriet Durden, 78, of Grovetown, Georgia passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022 with her family at her side. She was the Matriarch of the family - always taking care of everyone and loving unconditionally. She loved her family deeply and cherished every moment shared. Mrs. Harriet loved country music and westerns, her all-time favorite was John Wayne. Nana enjoyed cooking for her family and was known for her delicious Lemon Pound Cakes. Mrs. Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, Miles Scarboro Sr., and Lizzie Lou Scarboro; her husband, Kenneth "Big Ken" Durden, Sr.; brother, Miles Scarboro, Jr.; and granddaughter, Tiffany McAfee. She is survived by her children, Ross (Donna) Smith, Lynn Smith, Jamie Tudor, Jeanne Smith and Linda Durden; grandchildren, Paige Foskey, Cassy Britton, Emily James, Josh Eskew, Kayleigh Durden, Heather Ann Smith, Cody Downie and John Braun; and great-grandchildren, Dallas, Kayleigh, Lauren, Morgan, Madyson, Amellia, Bryson, Caiden, Walker, Braxton, Dakota, Olivia and Laylee. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 4 -6 PM at Starling Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at South Harlem Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Ross Smith, John Braun, Cody Downie, Tommy James, Dylan Smith, Robert Scarboro and Josh Eskew.
